MUSIC: Slow Knights - Shame Video

The new video for Slow Knights debut single 'Shame' has just been dropped over at SHOWstudio and it's insane! [Watch]

Musician Derek Gruen (or Del Marquis to Scissor Sisters fans) and director Edward Paul Quist exclusively release the video for 'Shame', a dark track taken from 'Cosmos', the debut album by Gruen's new musical collective, Slow Knights. The song's emotive exploration of feeling used and rejected is mirrored in the film's strong visuals, which focus on creating a 'cyclical digital prison of fear'.

MUSIC: Slow Knights - Cosmos

Today is the day. Slow Knights' debut album is now available via iTunes or vinyl. After a good few listens today, I have to say it is firmly the best album I have listened to this year (closely followed by Deptford Goth's, Life After Defo). Take a listen to Under Attack above.

If you don't know already, Slow Knights is a project of Del Marquis' (aka Scissor Sisters guitar/synth). Also a part of the album is hotOctopus fave, Bright Light Bright Light, along with Xavier, Mykal Kilgore, Bridget Barkan & Chrissi Poland.

Imagine a Paris Is Burning after-party smack bang in the mid-80s, fabulous bitches, and partying on (a/the) pier. The sound spreads from disco, synthpop, funk to soul and will get.you.in.the.mood.

It's excellent start to finish, there's nothing more I really need to say. Plus it's only £6.99 on iTunes - you probably spend more on that in Pret or Eat for your lunch.

That's basically my 'review'. Go and buy it.

Standout Tracks: Legendary Children, Shame and In The Quiet.

MUSIC: Slow Knights - Shame

Slow Knights is a project from Scissor Sisters' Del Marquis. Shame is the first single taken from the forthcoming album Cosmos.

The track is smooth, with elements of R&B and House, and will fit perfectly in the buildup to summer. Plus it's a FREE download.

MUSIC VIDEO: Del & Xavier

Above is the just released video for Del Marquis' and Xavier's new single Let Me Tickle Your Fancy. It is a cover of Jermaine Jackson's 1982 track, with a perfectly fitting video.

New musical project from Scissor Sister's member, Del Marquis and New York vocalist Xavier: Tickle Mixtape. You can listen to one of the tracks, 'Say Ooh Damn' over at Idolator.

We asked Del what his inspiration for “Say Ooh Damn” was, and, well, he didn’t really mince words: “Oh, lord, I won’t even skirt the issue — the song is about smoking weed and fucking from night till morning. The euphoria of sex.”

The EP contains 6 tracks and is available as a free download on Del's website: delmarquis.com/tickle/
